Good Morning People!!!
Back in 7th grade, I had a wood/metal shop teacher who carried a cup of coffee everywhere he went. His name was Mr. Armburst. Mr. Armburst drank coffee all day long—so much coffee, in fact, that we all believed it was the reason he was such a happy and fun teacher to have. If he wasn’t whistling a tune or cracking jokes, he was telling us a cool story.
Mr. Armburst was also the after-school wrestling coach, and I happened to be on the team as well. He was not the same coach as he was a teacher. As a coach, Mr. Armburst was stern and got on our butts about every little thing. I guess there’s a time to be funny and a time to be no-nonsense.
Happy Motivational Monday, my Weekday Warriors! A fresh start to a new week, yay!! Now it’s time for some self-education, right? And of course a little positivity to start the week. Anyway, expect your high temp for today to reach 42° and the low to hit 26° in the KC metro area. Your topic for today is on “The Importance of Being Ernest.”
Face it, People—there is a time and a place to play, and there is a time and a place to behave. We often get these two things mixed up, and when that happens, problems tend to arise. For instance, cracking a joke during a formal meeting when no one is in the mood for humor can backfire. Instead of lightening the conversation, you may end up offending someone.
Listen up, People: it’s okay to play, joke, and have your fun moments. However, learning to judge when—and when not—to bring your childhood self into a situation may very well protect you from damaging your precious reputation. Sometimes it’s okay for the horses to play, but sometimes it’s best to put the horses away.
I’m International Speaker Dr. Coffee Cup Chuck. Thank you for joining me again for another powerful message. I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day and as always, Stay Positive People☕️😎👍🏾!
