Good Morning People!!!
While visiting Nairobi, Kenya, I had the pleasure of going on an amazing safari across the wilderness of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. While traveling to the campsite, we encountered a roadblock that prevented us from entering the region. This was due to a protest involving a light pole blocking the road, restricting anyone from coming or going.
The villagers were standing together in response to a tragic incident involving two brothers who had been struck by a water truck the night before. Concerns grew within the community after the driver was released shortly afterward, which led the villagers to take a stand.
They blocked the road until agreements were made to provide support for the families affected by the incident. It was a powerful and eye-opening moment to witness—people coming together, unified, determined to be heard.
How are you standing up in your community?
Happy Throwback Thursday, my Weekday Warriors! Spring continues to peek in, and I’m tempted to grab it the next time it shows its face! KC metro weather starts in the upper 40s and climbs into the upper 70s by early afternoon, so get outside and enjoy it. Today’s topic is “The Power of Your Stance!”
Standing up for your rights is crucial to maintaining your dignity and ensuring fairness. Every one of us deserves respect and to have our voice heard.
So listen up, people…
When you advocate for yourself, you’re not just speaking up—you’re giving others permission to do the same. You’re planting seeds of courage, strength, and change. That’s how we build a more just world.
Now let’s be real—it won’t always be easy. There will be moments when your voice shakes, when standing up feels uncomfortable. But understand this: your persistence has power. Your voice carries weight. And your courage can spark change.
So the next time you’re faced with injustice… don’t shrink, stand tall.
Because together, standing firm—we don’t just face change..
We create it.
