Madison was not having the best of days. She had been dealing with an employee who was acting a little out of character. The employee had arrived to work late and showed up irritated and disrespectful. After addressing the employee’s tardiness, Madison received an array of insults. Sensing that the employee was lashing out due to something unseen, Madison refrained from returning insults or escalating the situation. Instead, she offered a listening ear, calmly encouraging the employee to share what was troubling them. In doing so, she created a pocket of support instead of pressure, creating trust and a pathway to a new bond.

So listen up, people: Retaliating only adds fuel to the fire, but choosing grace extinguishes it. By letting go, you set yourself free and lead by example. So the next time someone tests your patience, show them the power of grace and keep moving forward.
