Valerie laughed at the message she had just received from a user’s profile. “How about we Netflix and chill for our first date? You know… get to know each other a bit,” was the user’s response.

“What nerve,” she thought.

Years ago, she had put dating to the side to build herself a successful career in business. Now that her financial future was looking bright, she figured it was time to work on her personal future as well, so she decided to get back into dating.

The more she searched through dating sites, the more unlikely she felt it was that she would find the right someone. And before she accepted just anybody, she chose to remain alone.

You see, Valerie was not willing to lower her standards to accommodate anyone else’s weaknesses. She walked through life with her head held high—just like her standards.
