Good Morning People!!
In 2011, the lead quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts, Peyton Manning, walked off the field after the first game of the season. Due to a very serious neck injury, he had to undergo surgery that forced him to miss the rest of the season. After surgery, he went through strenuous rehabilitation and therapy training to prepare himself for an unexpected return to the NFL.
His healing process was one of the hardest challenges he had ever faced, and after spending the entire 2011 season recovering, he was released by the Colts. This did not stop the great quarterback. He was soon picked up by the Denver Broncos as their starting QB, and after four years in Denver, Peyton Manning led the team all the way to a Super Bowl victory.
Happy Motivational Monday my Weekday Warriors! A brand-new week is here, and it’s time to set the tone with intention and purpose. Your KC metro area weather starts off this morning in the low 20s and climbs into the mid to upper 30s this afternoon, so bundle up and stay warm.
Your topic for today is “The Importance of Healing.”
Face it, People—we are not invincible. And the older we get, the more we come to realize this fact. Our bodies tend to heal much faster when we are younger, but as we age, healing often requires more time and effort.
So listen up, People: when you’re injured, take into consideration what it will truly require for you to fully heal. By taking the necessary time off and committing to the exercises, therapy, medications, and routines needed to get you back on track, you help ensure that your recovery is a successful one.
So the next time you break a leg, settle back, relax, and properly deal with your healing.
