The Importance Of Forgiveness

Good Morning People!!

Hunter was serving a 15 year federal prison sentence for distribution of meth. He was being held in the Sandstone, Minnesota federal prison. On this particular day, he would be receiving his very first visit. He was excited because he hadn’t seen his wife and kids in months. His sister, along with his parents would also be coming along to visit. Little did he know, they would never make it. You see, the RV the family were traveling in was unfortunately forced off of the road by a semi truck driver falling asleep behind the wheel. There were no survivors. Hunter took the news hard. This would not have happened if he hadn’t come to jail. He blamed himself. This plummeted him in to depression so deep that he would have to be placed into protective custody to protect himself from harming himself.

Have you ever been wronged by someone and expected an apology? What about the other way around? Now ask yourself this question. When you wrong yourself, how often do you actually forgive ‘You’? A lot of times we seek out things from others that, we aren’t even willing to do ourselves, for ourselves. We preach without the actions of practicing the very same. So listen up People, as you except the apology from others, make sure you are forgiving yourself as well. Give yourself the closure needed to move on so you can continue learning this life. You see, if you aren’t forgiving yourself for the things done in the past, how can you actually make room for the mistakes that you will have to learn from in the future.
